Hello everybody, my name is Volker Blok, i live in South-Africa, i just bought my O319D 17 seater ( + driver ) bus with a 1.9 petrol engine from 1959, it has been outside for 30 years. It does not seem to be to rusted up, i will post pictures to show the overal condition, i have the original engine, but it has been outside on the ground for 30 years, i do not have pistons, conrods, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, not carburetor, i do have the original gearbox, pictures to follow
this will be our family restore project
I know this will take some time to finish, but at least i saved it from the elements outside.
It seems i might have a problem finding parts, but i will search and if needed get parts from Europe.
I am torn between original and putting in a 240D or 300d engine and using the gearbox from the donor car as well
I am aware of about 4-5 of these busses in South-africa, i will search for more , i would love to find a single or a doublecab " bakkie " ( pick-up )
